SUMMARY:100 Braid St Silk Hat Cocktail Speakeasy Prohibition Gala
DESCRIPTION:Shhhhhh…..You’re going to need to be dressed and have the right password to get into the secret entrance for the 100 Braid St Silk Hat Cocktail SpeakEasy Prohibition Gala. From the outside\, it will look like you’re attending an Art Show but in reality\, you’re going to travel back in time to 1929\, the year when our building came into being. The prohibition was in full force and rum runners & owners of the BC Distillery\, the Reifel brothers\, were providing the world with Silk Hat Cocktails produced right here in our building. Our event will harken back to the days of prohibition excess where you will enjoy the drink\, food\, history\, and music of the underground culture of the era. \nJoin us to learn how to make handcrafted contemporary interpretations of Silk Hat Cocktails with Lavish Liquid bartenders; imbibe 2 alcoholic cocktails and 2 mocktails that will pair with delectable eats from Chef Bain Van Dam of Fork & Knife Catering. You’ll learn about the sordid history of our building through a short historical theatrical experience which will blur the boundaries between audience and performers and you’ll get to enjoy amazing live jazz from the era with music provided by our resident vocal group\, Quayside Voices.  And last but not least\, be prepared to get out and join our roaring twenties dancers when the live music demands you take to the dance floor.  \nSo come to our Art Show\, wink\, wink. It’s going to be an amazing night but be careful who you tell\, we don’t want the cops finding out and busting in to break up the party!\nTickets are $75(taxes & service fees extra)\, and going quickly. Psst did we mention there will be a Mugshot Photobooth\, prizes for best-dressed guests\, and door prizes!\nAttire: 1920’s Cocktail Party \n\n\n\nFeast on the Fraser is an innovative culinary campaign creating signature events in unique spaces that pair food\, fun\, arts and entertainment within New Westminster\, BC. SUMMARY:Metro Vancouver Feast of Fields\, 23rd Annual
DESCRIPTION:Feast of Fields is a four hour wandering gourmet harvest festival that highlights the connections between farmers and chefs\, field and table\, and between farm folks and city folks. With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand\, guests stroll across a farmers field\, traveling from tent to tent (sometimes through the barn\, past the tractor or around the chicken coup) listening to live music\, and tasting gourmet creations from BC top chefs\, farmers\, fishers\, ranchers\, food artisans\, vintners\, brewers\, distillers and other beverage producers. \nFeast of Fields is a fundraiser for FarmFolk CityFolk\, helping to fulfill our mission to cultivate a local\, sustainable food system by building a market for local food through celebration. Since its inception\, Feast of Fields has only featured local producers\, artisans\, winemakers\, brewers and distillers\, and only those chefs that have existing relationships with local farmers and producers. For those businesses Feast of Fields offers a great way to highlight their commitment to local\, sustainable food and promote their business to customers that truly love and support the local food movement. As well\, for the host farm Feast of Fields provides a boost by introducing guests to their products and their farm. \nCheck out the “Chefs & Makers” section on our website www.feastoffields.com that provides a search engine that will help you find businesses that support FarmFolk CityFolk. We encourage you to support their business and book a table at their restaurant\, find their products\, or visit their farm or tasting room. Through feastoffields.com you can experience Feast of Fields all year round.
