SUMMARY:Maceration: Skin contact wines
DESCRIPTION:An evening of orange wine exploration\n\n\nThe appeal of orange wines has surged so dramatically that they’re now a staple on restaurant wine lists and by-the-glass selections—but why is this happening now? \nOrange or skin-contact wines aren’t a modern innovation; their origins stretch back over 8\,000 years to ancient Georgia\, where they’re lovingly referred to as “amber wines.” Regardless of the name\, what sets them apart is the unique addition of tannins\, which enhances the wine while still preserving the crisp\, refreshing qualities of the white grapes used. This added complexity is part of why they’ve gained such attention\, especially as food and wine pairings become increasingly adventurous. The bold character of orange wines opens up a whole new world for the curious gourmand. \nIn a way\, it’s like hitting a “redo” button for white wine\, offering a fresh perspective on a familiar category. Tonight\, we’ll explore a flight of the best and most exciting orange wines to understand what all the buzz is about. \nOur shop tastings start at 7pm and run for approximately one to one and a half hours. We will match 4-6 wines or 6-8 beers on a theme\, accompanied by some light nibbles chosen to pair with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting\, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.

SUMMARY:Ekklesia: The Monastic Legacy of Beer
DESCRIPTION:Dive into the fascinating history of beer and its connection to Monastic tradition at Ekklesia!\n\n\nMonastic tradition and the history of beer have a fascinatingly intertwined relationship. From developments in quality control and recipe creation to the first known addition of hops\, beer has come a long way due to the influence of the Church. This evening\, we will venture back through the ages and extol the virtues of some outstanding brews. Revel in a lineup of beers either developed in the old world or inspired by it. From a bevvy of Trappist tipples to the richness and complexity of Lambic\, we invite those who would follow to worship at the altar of ale and rejoice! \nOur shop tastings start at 7pm and run for approximately one to one and a half hours. We will match 6-8 beers on a theme\, accompanied by some light nibbles chosen to pair with the beer. Due to the communal nature of the tasting\, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements. \nTickets are available for purchase in-store or online at Eventbrite
