SUMMARY:Nuba's 20th Anniversary Block Party in Mount Pleasant
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of its 20th anniversary\, Vancouver’s renowned Nuba restaurant is organizing a Lebanese community feast and block party on Sunday\, July 16 from 2-10 p.m.\, in front of their Mount Pleasant location at 146 East 3rd Avenue. \n\n\n\nNuba first opened its doors in 2003 with a humble 15-seat space on West Hastings\, serving lunch plates and wraps. Founder Victor Bouzide introduced his family’s century-old recipes\, featuring dishes like falafel\, hummus\, and stewed lentils\, which were not as prevalent in Vancouver at the time. However\, these flavors quickly captivated the local community. \n\n\n\nThe festive 20th-anniversary celebration will transform East 3rd Avenue between Main and Quebec into a lively gathering. Live DJs will create a vibrant summer block party atmosphere\, complemented by an extensive Lebanese community feast and a bar. The menu will feature tantalizing dishes such as grilled skewers\, braised lamb\, delightful salads\, delicious pastries\, and Nuba’s iconic items like falafel and Najib’s Special—a cauliflower dish that has become an emblem of Vancouver. \n\n\n\nThe bar will serve natural wine\, craft beer\, tasty cocktails\, and refreshing fresh-pressed juices. Nuba’s trusted suppliers\, such as Massey Wines + Spirits\, Faculty Brewing Co.\, and Two Rivers Meats\, will also be present to showcase their exceptional products. \n\n\n\nGomez kindly requests that anyone planning to attend Nuba’s remarkable block party RSVP in advance so that they can accurately estimate the amount of cauliflower to prepare. \n\n\n\nRSVP here.
