SUMMARY:Bar SuSu x Calalta: Winemaker's Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Bar Susu is thrilled to announce its first-ever Winemaker’s Dinner. The event will take place on Thursday\, April 20th\, and will feature carefully selected wines from Calalta\, presented by the charming husband-and-wife team\, Giulia and Nicola. Chef Marc Marayag has crafted a special pairing menu to complement these delightful wines. \n\n\n\nCalalta is a relatively new project\, having been officially handed over to Nicola and Giulia in 2017. The winery is situated on the foothills of Monte Grappa in Veneto\, Italy\, and is surrounded by olive trees\, meadows\, woods\, and a pond\, creating a diverse range of wildlife that supports their artisanal winery. \n\n\n\nGiulia and Nicola work together with patience and respect for their wines\, caring for them from vineyard to cellar while preserving the most authentic expression of their unique region. Rather than relying on pesticides\, herbicides\, and chemical fertilizers\, they cultivate various grass species and legumes that attract bees for pollination and ladybugs that protect against harmful insects. \n\n\n\nIn essence\, the couple strives to preserve the most honest representation of their terroir\, driven by a sense of curiosity and wonder. Join Bar Susu for this exclusive event and experience the passion and dedication of these exceptional winemakers. \n\n\n\nBook the dinner here.

DESCRIPTION:Chancho Tortilleria\, a popular Mexican restaurant in Vancouver\, has reopened in a new location on Commercial Drive. The restaurant offers the same delicious menu as before\, as well as some exciting new additions. \n\n\n\nTo celebrate the new location\, Chancho is hosting a soft opening April 14 – 17\, 2023\, and $1 from each order will be donated to Kinbrace\, an East Vancouver charity that helps refugees settle into the community. \n\n\n\nThe new location\, previously known as Cafe Deux Soleils\, has 70 seats and an expanded tortilleria\, which means more diners can enjoy Chancho’s freshly made tortillas crafted from non-GMO heirloom native corn sourced directly from Mexican farmers. The menu features traditional Mexican dishes\, including juicy carnitas and grilled fresh veggies\, along with a boosted drinks menu of natural wines\, Mezcals\, and new cocktails. \n\n\n\nThe restaurant is open until 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday\, with plans for extended hours in the coming months.
