SUMMARY:Tayybeh Fest 2017: A Syrian-Style Holiday Dinner **Sold Out**
DESCRIPTION:We wanted to make sure this very special year ends without coming together with out offering one last incredible dinner in 2017. So on Saturday\, December 2nd\, we will have a true holiday celebration featuring the most beloved staples of Syrian Christmas dinners to commemorate the first year of Tayybeh! \nARE YOU READY FOR TAYYBEH FEST 2017?! \nSome of the dishes are inspired by a traditional Christmas dinner with a Syrian twist. Ushering in the new year is a time of reflection and celebration for peoples around the world. Coming together as a family and a community are an important part of reflecting on memories past and excitement about the year to come. For this reason\, Tayybeh Fest is an opportunity to come together and enjoy one anothers’ company in a festive holiday spirit and share mouthwatering Syrian seasonal food while enjoying wonderful music. \nLike all Tayybeh events\, it is a community affair where the Syrian tradition of sharing food is observed. We are thrilled to be holding Tayybeh Fest 2017 at Tenth Church. Both the church staff and congregation have been supporters of refugee families and of Tayybeh specifically from the outset of the project. We could not be more delighted to finally be teaming up with them on this very special holiday pop-up dinner. \nAnd as always\, the food will be served buffet-style with plenty for everyone to go back for seconds 😉 \nSince our last pop-up dinner\, #Tayybeh has grown leaps and bounds with your amazing support!! We are the subject of several film and media productions\, we’ve reached 3000 dedicated followers on Facebook\, and our catering service is getting rave reviews. We have tried our very best to live up to our title of Western Living’s “Foodies of the Year” for 2017!! ♥ As always\, our amazing women chefs vow to exceed all expectations and promise to wow us all in a manner befitting the accolades they earned. The national\, regional\, local\, and family recipes they will prepare are a culinary journey guided by Chefs Um Omar\, Raghda\, Maha\, Majda\, and Hiba. Their complex appetizers\, mains and desserts are inspired by family recipes from their hometowns in Aleppo\, Damascus\, Lattakia\, and Idlib. The menu at Tayybeh Fest 2017 will also feature some vegan\, vegetarian\, and gluten free dishes. \nAs is always the case at our community pop-up dinners\, the night will feature musical entertainment\, some surprise raffle giveaways\, and a CASH-ONLY station where you can take home some Tayybeh goodies (perfect for Christmas presents) ! \nTickets ($60+ GST) will be available for purchase online on this event page on Monday November 20th at 2pm PST on a link in this event page. Since tickets sell very fast and we have limited seating\, be sure to buy tickets as close to 2pm as possible 🙂 There are a few discounted tickets ($25 +GST) for children aged 6-12. There is also a children’s play area so that kids who are not ticketed can play 🙂 \nTicket proceeds and funds generated through this dinner help Tayybeh support Syrian women chefs and their families–all of whom have been displaced by the war in their country. \nDue to limited seating\, only ticketed guests can be accommodated at this event. \nDOORS OPEN AT 6:00PM\, PROGRAM COMMENCES AT 6:30PM \nAnd as we always say\, bring your appetite 🙂 \n[All foods served at #Tayybeh dinners are made from certified Halal ingredients]

SUMMARY:Hopscotch Festival Vancouver
DESCRIPTION:The 22nd Annual Hopscotch Festival is back – but in an entirely new way! Canada’s largest celebration of Scotch and other Whiskies\, Craft and Premium Beer\, Craft and Premium Spirits\, Wine and Food has been given a facelift with immense changes being implemented. It took 22 years but Hopscotch is no longer a “corporate-style” public trade show but rather an experience for the “in” that won’t be forgotten. Some of the new changes are: \nMORE BOOTHS/MORE PRODUCTS\nLast year there was about 80 booths\, this year there is over 130! Last year there was less than 300 products\, this year we will have over 400! More selection\, more great beer\, more whisky\, more spirits and so many other additions. \nLOWER TICKET PRICES\nTicket prices have been reduced! From $53 to (starting at $22)\, the idea for 2017 was to make Hopscotch the BEST night out\, for a affordable price. \nCATEGORIZES SECTIONS\nUnlike last year and years prior\, the booths at Hopscotch will be in categories. The BC Craft Pavilion\, Beers From Around The World\, Whisky Corner\, The Rose Garden (wine)\, Spirits Of The Globe and Craft Cocktails are some of the different areas within the hall this year. If you want beer\, the beer will be in the beer section. Same with the whisky! Each area will be “vibed” differently\, to really accent the theme of the respective product being showcased. \nWHISKY CORNER\nAfter receiving feedback from our guests that they would love all of the exhibited whisky in one area\, we have created Whisky Corner; An event within an event. Over 120 whiskies will be displayed within this new showcase at Hopscotch. From Single Malt Scotch\, to Blends\, from Irish to Japanese\, from Bourbons to Ryes and everything else – it will all be at Hopscotch this year. \nLOCAL: BC CRAFT BEER PAVILION PRESENTED BY THE BC CRAFT BREWERS GUILD\nNew for the very first time in Hopscotch Festival history\, we will showcase all of the amazing BC Craft beers in the same area. Sponsored by the BC Craft Brewers Guild\, LOCAL will be showcase so many of the amazing breweries producing delicious craft beer in BC. This will offer an opportunity for guests to really see (AND TASTE) the magic that is BC Craft. \nLOCAL: BC CRAFT SPIRITS\nJust like the note above\, there will also be a separate section specifically showcasing the amazing craft and small batch spirits being produced in BC. \nCRAFT COCKTAIL SHOWCASE\nPresented By Hendrick’s Gin and Monkey Shoulder Whisky\, the Craft Cocktail Showcase will not only offer different specialty cocktails created in partnership with some of the best mixologists within Vancouver\, but as well\, will showcase the “Hendrick’s Cocktail Configurator”\, a life size cocktail art piece that creates the perfect Negroni as well as Monkey Shoulder’s “Hello Monkey Trolley” which will mix the concept of a great cocktail with vibes of iconic 80s and 90s Hip Hop. \nRESTAURANT ROW\nLikely our biggest piece of feedback every year is more food. Well we heard you. This year will are bringing in celebrity chefs and premium restaurants from around the city including The Pawn Shop\, Steel Toad\, La Pentola\, and others. This will be a food showcase unlike any year prior. \nTHE WINE GARDEN\nWe have brought in a select amount of wineries to showcase some delicious wine\, both international and domestic. The idea behind this new additiona was that pretty much everybody likes wine! Although this isn’t a wine show\, there are people attending Hopscotch that may want to enjoy some vino over dinner\, or others who are attending to be with friends who may not drink beer or spirits. Now there is something for everyone! We just launched a smaller version of this activation in Kelowna and it was a hit! \nMUSIC LOUNGE\nWe will have several bands playing – stay tuned for a full line-up. \nNEW AESTHETICS\nWe just finished our new concept at Hopscotch Kelowna and the positive feedback was immense. New softer lighting\, large light globes\, signage at every booth\, tall drape to hide some of the “aesethically challenged” areas of the venue – Hopscotch will look completely different this year. The PNE Forum will be completely transformed with custom lighting\, signage\, special drapes – when you walk into The Forum\, you won’t even recognize it! \nDIGITAL PLATFORM: THE APP\nInstead of wasting hundreds of thousands of sheets of paper with our connoisseur booklet\, the show now uses a digital platform via the Hopscotch App. Visit www.hopscotchfestival.com/app to download our new app!
