Recap the honey season with an opportunity to see how a beekeeper draws honey, cleans beeswax, makes mead and hand lotions. Participate in the extraction of this year’s honey and make products from the hive like salves and mead. Participants learn about the life cycle of honeybees and the importance of pollinators, what to plant and how to increase biodiversity. Participants learn how they can support and create bee habitat and possibly become a backyard beekeeper. Participants understand their impact on pollinators by their actions. Participants engage in a specialized activity in a safe environment.
