Join us for an informative hands-on teaching session with Long Table Distillery Head Bartender Tarquin Melnyk. Tarquin will give you all the basic tips of the trade when it comes to stirring, shaking, and straining your way to the ideal drink. Hard won skills that took years to master will be hacked down to their most basic elements by an award winning industry pro.

* Although we will have some shared bar tools, we urge you to bring your own set of bar tools if you have them!

ABOUT YOUR PRESENTER

TARQUIN J. MELNYK

Since 2010, Tarquin Melnyk has been an awarded bartender in numerous cities around the world. After transitioning from a career in Health Care, Tarquin has been on a quest to elevate beverage culture and provide a lasting experience for everyone he serves. In 2014 he resettled on Canada’s West Coast and took-over the bar at Bambudda, in Vancouver’s Gastown. There, he transformed it into one of the city’s most notable cocktail bars Vancouver according to Eater, Air Canada and BC Living. Tarquin’s love for innovative molecular drinks led him to a involvement with Ms. Better’s, makers of high quality bitters, syrups, purees and the Miraculous Foamer, an egg-white replacement that placed #10 of the ‘Top 50 Most Innovative Products in the World’ by ‘The Spirit’s Business’. As a member of the growing team at Long Table Distillery, Tarquin is simultaneously their Brand Ambassador and Distillery Bar Director, helping oversee its rise in global respect and availability. Long Table’s lounge is now hailed as one of Vancouver’s Best Cocktail Lounges. In addition, Mr. Melnyk is a prolific writer, photographer, consultant and filmmaker – hosting acclaimed content on a number of sites.
