Japanese Canadian Heritage Cooking Class – Yummy Oshizushi in the Kitchen!

April 16, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm PDT

This April, dynamic duo Etsuko Dojima and Chiharu Mitsueda will teach us to create fun, tasty oshizushi (pressed box sushi) for home cooks!

ETSUKO & CHIHARU’S DELISH SPRING MENU:

  • Simplified sushi rice demo
  • Learning the art of prepping fish for sushi
  • Some bright, seasonal ingredients to add healthy flair
  • Layering, pressing and cutting the oshizushi
  • Lotus root kimpira (renkon-on-the-go)
  • Tea, fruit and confections!

Cooks’ Bios:

Chiharu was born in Hokkaido and Etsuko was born in Toyama prefecture. They are full-time, working moms who are always thinking of ways to simplify the preparation and cooking of dinner.

Toyama is famous for trout pressing sushi. This lesson will feature Canadian Oshi Sushi and a simple, healthy side dish of lotus root.
