FAIRMONT HOTEL VANCOUVER Kickstarts the LUNAR NEW YEAR Celebration WITH Enchanting AFTERNOON TEA and EVENING LOUNGE

Starting Thursday, January 4, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is set to unveil its Lunar New Year celebration, “Lunar New Year at the Castle.” The event will feature the return of Notch8‘s immersive Themed Afternoon Tea and the introduction of a new evening lounge concept, Moonlight Lounge, inspired by The Year of the Dragon.

Koncept Designs has transformed the salon into a sensory setting, creating a fully immersive experience from day to night.

Notch8 Executive Chef Danai Hongwanishkuhl has crafted a special Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea menu priced at $69.00 per person ($34.50 for children 12 and under).

The menu includes a variety of LOT 35 Tea and specialty teas, along with delectable sweet and savory bites such as Chilled Char Siu Pork Belly, Duck Confit with scallion pancake, Shrimp + Egg Tart, Curry Puff, Dragon Ball Cream Puff, Black Sesame Macaron, Opera Cake, and a special red envelope with chocolate coins.

As the sun sets, guests can explore the newly introduced Moonlight Lounge, offering dim sum, light bites, and desserts. Bar Manager Steve Hagan has collaborated with The Macallan to create Lunar New Year-inspired cocktails, including the Baijiu Berry Bliss, Suanmeitang Sour, and Mango Baozhong Cooler.

Throughout the Lunar New Year season, eight lucky diners have the chance to receive a ‘Golden Ticket’ in a red envelope, featuring prizes ranging from complimentary tea for two to an overnight stay at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. A special Lion Dance ceremony is scheduled for Friday, February 9, with details to be shared on the hotel’s website and Instagram @FairmontVan in the coming weeks.

Reservations for the Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea at Notch8 are available Wednesday through Sunday from January 4 to February 25, with three daily seatings at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. Reservations can be made online. The Moonlight Lounge at Notch8 will debut on Thursday, January 18, and will be open Thursday to Saturday from 6:00 p.m. through February 24.
