Richmond’s dining scene is about to get a fresh infusion of flavor with the opening of House of Dawn on November 4, 2024. This new upscale-casual restaurant blends Asian culinary traditions with global influences, offering a unique alternative to the city’s dining staples.
Located at 130-8171 Ackroyd Road, House of Dawn is helmed by Chef and Partner Danny Deng, General Manager Ryan Nam, and Bar Manager Korbin Mountford. The trio brings together rich culinary and hospitality expertise, crafting a menu that spans from shareable plates and sashimi to hearty mains like Grilled Ribeye with Miso Sauce and Smoked Soy Glazed Sablefish. Don’t miss the Cherry Foie Gras Mousse or the delicate Jasmine Panna Cotta for dessert.
“We’re excited to bring a dining experience to Richmond that merges familiar Asian flavors with unexpected global twists,” says Deng. “House of Dawn is about creating special moments for our guests every time they visit.”
The restaurant’s cocktail program, led by Mountford, features Asian-inspired spins on classics and unique creations like the Golden Throne and Moonlight Matinee. Paired with a selection of fine wines, artisanal sakes, and premium spirits, the beverage menu complements each dish perfectly.
Designed to evoke the glamour of old Shanghai, House of Dawn’s interior blends modern elegance with nostalgic touches. Guests can choose from five distinct dining areas, including a chic cocktail lounge and private dining rooms, each adorned with dark green leather, marble tiles, and gold accents.
“House of Dawn is a space where food, culture, and community converge,” says Nam. “Whether for a casual meal or a special gathering, we want our guests to feel welcome and inspired.”
