Mott 32 Vancouver is teaming up with Select Wines for a one-night-only spirits dinner on Thursday, April 20 at 6 p.m. The dinner will feature rare whiskies paired with Mott 32’s signature elevated Chinese cuisine.
Mott 32’s Wine Director, Robert Stelmachuk, and Select Wines’ Spirits Ambassador, Lee Hanson, will guide guests through the pairings. The event will include a welcome cocktail and appetizer, followed by a seated five-course meal, created by Mott 32’s culinary team in Vancouver, served alongside pours of the evening’s carefully-curated spirit selections.
The featured distillers for the evening are Hirsch, Old Potrero, and Tesseron. Guests will have the opportunity to taste Tesseron’s Composition and Lot 76 cognacs, Hirsch’s The Horizon and The Bivouac bourbons, and Old Potrero’s 100% Rye Whiskey. Mott 32’s menu for the dinner includes dishes such as Soft Quail Egg, Iberico Pork, and Black Truffle Siu Mai, Whole Crispy Abalone, Wok-Fried Quail Leg with Okra and Mushroom, Slow Cooked Kurobuta Pork Belly with Turnip Cake, and more.
Robert Stelmachuk expressed excitement about the event, stating, “Pairing these rare whiskies with Chinese cuisine is an absolute thrill. It’s such an honour to guide our guests on a journey through this often-unexplored culinary territory, matching Mott 32’s dynamic range of flavours with the impeccable cognacs, bourbons, and rye whiskey Select Wines has chosen for the evening.”
Tickets for the Spirits Dinner are priced at $288 per person and can be secured in advance by emailing Robert directly at robert.stelmachuk@mott32.ca.
