Auxi Foods & Kitchen [New Westminster] offers juices, coffee, salads, wraps, and more is located at 150-1110 Ewen Avenue in Queens Plaza, as well as nutritional breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options will all be also available. @auxifoods [DailyHive]

Centro [West End] has opened its doors quietly 1037 Denman Street. Owner Angela Maida had to shut down her seven-year-old Cambie Village restaurant Pronto, and its neighbouring bar Prontino, at 3473 Cambie Street in March due to redevelopment. @centrodenman[Straight]

The Compound [Downtown] is located at 1026 Granville Street, replaced Glowbal’s The Fish Shack, offering a menu full of comfort food,  eight rotating taps with local beer, and signature cocktails like the Cedar Smoked Whisky Sour. This spot is open from 4 pm ’til late. @thecompound604 [DailyHive]

DD Mau [Chinatown] has finally opened their location at 145 E. Pender St. In the 3000 sqft,  54-seat space, they are serving up the same delicious banh mi sandwiches that they’re known for, not to mention pho and plenty of southern Vietnamese home cooking besides.  “di di mau”, Vietnamese for “go go quickly”) offers takeout and  they’re also pursuing a liquor license.  @ddmau [Scout]

Electric Bicycle Brewing [Mount Pleasant] has opened at 20 East 4th Avenue  Located in a former electric bicycle factory at 20 E 4th Avenue, promising to deliver “an ideal combination of outrageously good beers with gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, a great atmosphere and grooving music,” @electricbicyclebrewing [Canadian Beer News]

Gilaneh Persian Grill House [West End] has opened their 2nd location at 1072 Denman Street, with one location already in North Vancouver at 222 Pemberton Avenue. Greenderful Juice and Salad  [Chinatown] is located at 636 Main Street, Co-founder and in-house nutritionist Wendy earned her Nutritional Science degree with a focus on dietetics from UC Berkeley.  She also worked as a nutrition educator promoting healthy food at Second Harvest Food Bank (now called Feeding America).  @greenderful [Vancouver Foodster]

Modern Handi Indian Restaurant [West End]  is now serving Authentic Indian Cuisine served in a calm atmosphere at 827 Denman Street. The name “Handi” refers to the traditional, thick-bottomed clay pot with a narrow top that allows for lengthy simmering, which produces rich, deeply spiced flavours. Hey Dumplings [Chinatown] has opened doors at 208 Keefer Street, serving Pelmeni Poutine, Pesto, Vegan Beet Pesto, Spicy Ginger Scallion, Creamy Dill, Buffalo Hot Sauce, and Butter Chicken. Il Posto [Ladner] has opened doors at 4866 Delta Street, Ladner.  A winner of two regional titles in the yearly Gold Medal Plates competition, Terry Pichor is perhaps best known for his long-standing position as executive chef of the Relais & Châteaux property Sonora Resort, an island resort in British Columbia. @ilpostoresto [EatNorth]

Ramen Taka [West End] is located at 841 Bidwell Street, serving authentic Asahikawa Hokkaido ramen and other speciality dishes. This is their first shop after their 5 successful locations in Hokkaido, Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan. Founder Hideki Sasaki, who began his quest of perfecting his mother’s ramen recipe about 12 years ago,  chose Vancouver for his international debut for the water in the city with the quality to be matched by the water back in his hometown near Asahikawa, which is important in the craft of broth making and noodle cooking.
