Rice Cake Master (formerly Nam Dae Moon Rice Cake) is thrilled to announce the arrival of LurouFan Tasty, a Taiwanese eatery, for a special pop-up at the Burnaby location in January, which will run through the spring of 2024.
LurouFan Tasty, or 滷肉飯特西, brings the authentic flavors of Taiwan to its specialty rice bowls. These dishes showcase beloved street favorites like Braised Pork Rice, at $6.95 for small and $13.95 for large, Braised Pork Belly Rice, at $16.50, and Fried Pork Chop Rice, at $16.50 – reminiscent of the vibrant night markets and popular eateries in Taiwan.
The signature dish, Braised Pork Rice or Lurou Fan, is a staple in Fujianese and Taiwanese cuisines. It typically features finely chopped pork belly cooked through the traditional lu, or 滷 method, involving marinating and braising in soy sauce, sugar, and multiple spices. The flavourful concoction is then served atop rice, often accompanied by Taiwanese pickles, braised eggs, fresh vegetables, and/or other side dishes.
The menu at LurouFan Tasty extends beyond rice bowls, offering other delectable Taiwanese and Asian fan favorites such as Braised Beef on Noodles, at $15.50, Taiwanese Fried Chicken Rice, at $16.50, and Japanese-style Curry Rice, at $17.50, all known for their exceptional taste and budget-friendly prices.
Situated just steps away from Royal Oak Skytrain Station, Rice Cake Master Burnaby‘s convenient location makes it an ideal spot for enjoying tasty lunches, delightful snacks, and quick and fantastic dinners.
