Newly Opened Vancouver Restaurants – Fall & Winter Edition 2021/2022

Baghven Uyghur Cuisine [South Main] is located at 3369 Cambie Street, serving Baghven Uyghur dishes. @baghvenvr

BjornBar Bakery [Burquitlam] is an “elevated nostalgic” bakery specializing in classic dessert bars. The bakery features 30+ flavours of edible bars to choose from. Breakfast, lunch, and drink offerings and shelves of take-home gifting items all in one cozy cafe. The new location has opened doors at 111-581 Clarke Road, Coquitlam in addition to their North Vancouver location. @bjornbarbakery

Ca Marche Creperie & Cider Bar[Downtown] brings an interpretation of the galette de sarrasin unites a Breton tradition with a Pacific Northwest twist, using fresh, local products to complement naturally gluten-free buckwheat crêpes. The buckwheat crêpe remains a Breton staple, now popular all over France. Located at 1471 Continental Street, Vancouver. This crispy and savoury French pancake is traditionally followed by a classic sweet crêpe, all accompanied by a bowl of bubbly apple cider.  @camarche_creperie

Cafe Kitsune [Gastown] is a Japanese-inspired French coffee shop, re-located to 157-159 Water Street.  @cafekitsune

Carlino [Coal Harbour] is a newly opened Italian restaurant located at 1115 Alberni St, inside Shangri-La Vancouver, taking over the former Miantiao Chinese-Italian concept. Inspired by the Friuli region of Italy, Carlino pays homage to British Columbia and the similarities it shares with northern Italy – the mountain ranges, forests, lakes and coastal waters. As well as classic Friulian dishes, guests will find specialties from neighbouring regions Trentino and Veneto.

Cannoli King [Port Coquitlam] is expanding to a new location at 1125 – 950 Seaborne Avenue, Port Coquitlam. Cannoli King strives to be one of the greatest authentic Italian Bakery. Since 1985, the bakery has been locally handcrafting Sicilian cannoli and artisan Italian baking for over 35 years. @cannolikingvancouver

Cask Whiskey & Robata Bar [Richmond] is situated on street level at Richmond’s Versante Hotel at 8400 Bridgeport Road, Richmond, and can seat about 65 guests divided over the intimate benches, loveseats, and small tables overlooking the bar. Cask is a place to retreat to – a world to indulge in with fine foods, beverages, and service. Cask also has 2 unique private dining areas that can be exclusively reserved for up to 10 guests each. @cask.yvr

Chicko Korean Fried Chicken [Sunrise | Kerrisdale] has just opened 2 outlets located in the neighborhoods of 49th & Fraser and 6015 West Blvd. The restaurant starts with the freshest chicken and cooks it immediately on order, to serve the customer Korean Style Fried Chicken that is super juicy and crispy. @chicko_chicken

Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog [Richmond] has opened its 2nd location at 6020 No. 3 Road, Richmond, specializing in popular Korean street food – Korean rice dog, including rice flour-battered hot dogs, spicy sausages, all mozzarella rice dog and an option that’s half hot dog and half mozzarella cheese. The batter-dipped sticks are coated with optional toppings, from diced potato to breadcrumbs, and freshly fried on the spot.  It is located @chungchun.ca

Collective Goods [Kensington] is a new neighbourhood bistro and grocer at 3532 Commercial Dr. The 1,450-sq-ft, 40-seat space offers casual dining in the bistro, simple grocery staples, take-home meal kits, and a wine shop overseen by Sommelier and Collective Goods General Manager, Shiva Reddy. @collectivegoodsyvr [Dailyhive]

COFU Pressed Sushi [Granville Island] is a Japanese restaurant that originated from Oshi-sushi and Hako-sushi. Located at 1833 Anderson St #103. Cofu focused on modern sushi arrangements based on good old Japanese things. COFU offers pressed sushi that allows customers to customize the type of rice and the combination of ingredients and sauces. This new type of sushi is not only vivid and beautiful to the eye but also healthy and safe. @cofu_20

Community Taps & Pizza (by Biercraft)[Grandview-Woodland] is a new restaurant-pub located at 1191 Commercial Drive, a spot for pizza and brews. Community Taps & Pizza was born based on a passion to bring people together over amazing drinks and acclaimed pizza. @community.yvr

District Eleven [Mount Pleasant] a new late-night snack bar opened its doors, located at 4063 Main Street, has now launched and is serving up Asian fusion eats and more, featuring modern takes on Vietnamese classics and elevated nods to Asian street foods, as well as novel and experimental Asian-fusion dishes. @_districteleven

Don O So’s Mexican Cantina [Grandview Woodland] has opened its new location at 1305 Commercial Dr, bringing some Mexican and Chilean flavour to this area @donososrestaurant

Fiorino [Strathcona] offers house-made schiacciata bread sandwiches opened at 212 E. Georgia Street. Fiorino has a unique share plate dinner menu, and a diverse Italian wine and cocktail list. Combining freshly baked bread, imported Italian products, and locally sourced ingredients. @fiorino_isf

Gram Cafe  [Brentwood] has opened a new location at 4567 Lougheed Highway, offering its signature fluffy pancakes are originated in Osaka, Japan.  @gramcanad

Hero’s Welcome [Riley Park] is a new pub located at 3917 Main Street in Vancouver, BC which is formerly the home of The Army, Navy, Air Force Veterans in Canada Unit #298, also known as the Taurus Club. The pub wants to bring a community-focused environment that attempts to bring the energy of a post-war Canadian Veterans Club into a modern setting.  @heros.welcome

Imposter Cafe & Bakery [Grandview Woodland] is a plant-based cafe, bakery, and retail outlet serving locally-sourced products on the market, located at 2474 E. Hastings Street  @liveimposter

Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba [Burnaby & Kerrisdale] is the Japanese Noodle House chain that has just opened 2 new locations at 106-1901 Rosser Avenue, Burnaby (Amazing Brentwood ) and 2285 W. 41st Avenue in the Kerrisdale neighborhood. Japanese Chef Takuma Ishikawa created KOKORO mazesoba in Tokyo Japan in 2013. Soon Mazesoba becomes extremely popular in Japan and scattered in major Japanese cities, especially in Tokyo where KOKORO brand founder Takuma Ishikawa started his business and won the Best 2014 Mazesoba Award in Japan. @kokoro_mazesoba

Kozak Ukrainian Eatery [Gastown] is the new destination for Ukrainian food and artisan bread. Kozak Ukrainian Bakery a new location opened at 1 West Cordova. Kozak currently operates two other locations in Vancouver and New West. Lightshade pop-up wine bar [Vancouver] is the new wine and cocktail bar pop-up, and a plant-based restaurant that can be entered via its 1079 Mainland street address.  @lightshadeyvr

Linh Cafe [Downtown] is known as a Vietnamese kitchen with a French cooking style. The casual family-style restaurant has opened a new location at 1428 Granville Street, in addition to its original outpost in Kitsilano at 2836 W 4th Avenue, featuring an array of Vietnamese noodle soups, French delicacies, and signature shareables, such as spicy baguette sticks, escargot, and salad rolls. @linhcafe_yvr [Dailyhive]

Nancy Go Yaya a new Singaporean restaurant opened at 265 E. Pender Street, offering up breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.  @nancygoyaya

Nightshade [Vancouver] is a globally inspired vegan/vegetarian restaurant in a warm yet elegant floral dining setting, located at 1079 Mainland.  @nightshadeyvr

Nukid Bakery & Cafe [Downtown] is a new sweet spot that has softly opened at 1660 Robson Street, serving Korean-style baked goods and drinks. @nukidcafe[dailyhive]

OEB Breakfast [North Vancouver]  has opened a new location at 101 – 1441 St Georges Avenue, offering lots of choices for breakfast and brunch.  @oeb_breakfast

Osmows [Richmond] is a casual restaurant capturing a truly modern taste of Mediterranean cuisine opened at 12800 Bridgeport Road. Chicken Kebab Wrap with Canned Pop. Chunks of grilled chicken breast marinated in Osmow’s signature Mediterranean spices and herbs. @osmows

PK (Peranakan Kitchen) [New Westminster] has opened just in time to celebrate a tasty Christmas with Special Events Catering packages at 1122 5th Avenue, New Westminster. MOM’S COOKING in Peranakan style is ready to be delivered and catered.  @pkvanc

Roosh [Downtown Eastside] creates a truly unique experience by serving skillets, salads and starters inspired by Swiss cooking. Located at 2 Water Street, just opened for dinner and drinks on weekdays and for weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday. @rooshonwater

Snackshot [Kingsway & Boundary] a Hong Kong-style dessert spot opened at 3595 Kingsway. Snackshot is known for specializing in Hong Kong-style desserts such as tofu pudding and different types of tong sui (Chinese sweet soups). @snackshot_ [Dailyhive]

Tachingon [Kitsilano] is the small eatery opened on Kitsilano a month ago at 2967 W Broadway offering Mexican cuisine. The restaurant is owned by husband and wife, Ulyses and Martha who wanted to bring the food that they grew up eating to Vancouver. @taqueriatachingon

ZARAK by Afghan Kitchen [MT Plesant] has opened doors at 2102 Main Street. The 2,277 sq ft space has been brought to life by architect Marko Simcic of Simcic Uhrich Architecture (Superflux, Harken, The Birds and the Beets, Brassneck) by merging a modern design aesthetic with materials, building lines, and colour palettes based on traditional Afghan mud houses.  @zarakvancouver
