One of the highlights of the annual PNE Fair is discovering the newest, boldest, and most unexpected food creations. This year, nine brand-new dishes join the lineup, blending Canadian favourites with international flair in Vancouver.
From sweet to savoury, here’s what fairgoers can look forward to:
1. BC Blueberry Mascarpone Crumble Pizza – Cheeky Italian’s Chef Andy Chong serves up a decadent fusion of blueberry-ginger compote with cinnamon-orange mascarpone cream, topped with crumble for a sweet twist on pizza.
2. Cowboy Candy Ice Cream – Summerland Soft Serve marks 30 years at the PNE with mango soft serve rimmed in Tajin and finished with candied jalapeños, delivering sweet heat in every bite.
3. JapaCurryBeef Poutine – Rotato Potato reimagines Canada’s most famous comfort food with a Japanese spin, blending rich curry beef flavours with classic poutine elements.
4. Apple Crumble Perogies – International Perogies combines tradition with indulgence, topping warm cheddar perogies with apple pie filling, vanilla glaze, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
5. Ube Corndog – Corndog King goes purple with this half-mozzarella, half-hot dog creation, coated in ube batter and panko, then drizzled with Kewpie mayo.
6. Canadian Corndog – Big Cocos goes all-in on Canadian pride, wrapping a classic corndog in maple-bacon batter, deep-frying it, and finishing with more bacon and maple syrup.
7. Tarte au Sucre Mini Donuts – The Little Donut Bakery introduces a Québécois-inspired flavour to its iconic mini donut collection, alongside classics like cinnamon sugar.
8. Dubai Funnel Cake – Pennsylvania Funnel Cakes brings Middle Eastern luxury to the fair with pistachio cream, strawberries, and decadent Dubai chocolate atop golden funnel cake.
9. Sweetgrass & Strawberry Lemonade with Sopalali Foam – At the Safeway Cooking Stage, Indigenous chefs Sarah Meconse Mierau and Inez Cook present a refreshing drink infused with cultural significance and plant medicine traditions.
