Vancouver will be glowing green for Growing Chefs on Tuesday, November 29 to spread awareness and raise funds for their 2022 winter fundraising campaign’ ‘Turnip The Heat’.
Vancouverites will be able to spot green lights across the city at BC Place, Canada Place, Science World, City Hall, AND the Burrard Street Bridge and are invited to attend a special ‘Taco Tuesday of Giving Tuesday’ event at Tacofino Gastown to support the initiative.
There are limited tickets available for the Tacofino Taco Tuesday celebration on Tuesday, November 29 which will take place from 4pm-7pm. The night will include canapés, cocktails, mocktails, music, silent auction, amazing people, and of course, tacos! Entertainment at the event will be provided by Table Tutors. It’s a great opportunity for those who are looking to learn more about local charity Growing Chefs and for those who are familiar and looking to reconnect in person.
People can get on the guest list with a $30 charitable donation or make it a date night (for two people) with a $50 donation. Entry includes canapées and a welcome cocktail or mocktail.
All funds raised during Taco Tuesday will be added to the annual winter fundraising campaign ‘Turnip The Heat, total. This year, the fundraising goal for the campaign is $20,000 which will go towards Growing Chefs edible education programming and initiatives throughout the current school year supporting B.C. kids and their families.
All donors from November 10 – December 31, 2022 will be recognized by various donation levels according to the Scoville Scale making it an accessible and fun way for all supporters to get involved.

GivingTuesday is the world’s largest generosity movement and is considered by many as the opening day of the giving season. On November 29th, 2022 GivingTuesday Canada will celebrate its 10th anniversary, with thousands of partner organizations and millions of Canadians expected to take part.
