Afghan Kitchen [South Surrey] is located at Unit 115, 16120 24 Avenue, Surrey. This is a family-owned and -run business that reflects the best of Afghan roots, traditions, and values.  @aksurrey [Vancouver Foodster]

Atlas Steak + Fish [Burnaby] is located at 4331 Dominion Street, Burnaby, adjacent to Grand Villa Casino. This is the steakhouse’s 3rd location in Canada. The steakhouse makes sure to use the top percentage of Alberta Angus Reserve Beef and U.S.D.A. Prime make the Atlas cut and are selected for their dishes. @atlasburnaby [Vancouver Foodster]

Beere Brewing Company [North Vancouver] has opened doors at 312 Esplanade E, North Vancouver and was founded by Matt Beere and his father Craig Beere, which explains the extra “e” in the brewery name. Located in a space that was previously used as a warehouse for the elder Beere’s timber company, and is offering a variety of beers from the brewing team of Matt, Nick Murphy, and Kevin Elliott. @beerebrewingco [Canadian Beer News]

Bells & Whistles [Riley Park] has opened doors at 3296 Fraser Street, as the latest restaurant venture for Gooseneck Hospitality (Wildebeest, Bufala, Lucky Taco). The 3,000-square-foot restaurant is serving lunch, dinner, and late-night drinks spot can accommodate 150 guests. It features a dining room, wrap-around heated outdoor patio, big screens to watch sports, and a games room that will offer arcade favourites such as Skee-ball, hoops, and foosball tables. @glorydaysyvr [Straight]

Black Lodge [Mount Pleasant] has opened doors at 317 East Broadway, 1,600 sqft space with the orginal high, pressed ceilings and the old wooden floors added to the theme. Foodwise it remains the same with their original location on Kingsway (vegetarian, that is) with eight new items added to the menu, which has an expanded share plates section. Chinatown BBQ [Chinatown] has opened doors at 130 E. Pender, serving Cantonese style BBQ and other classic dishes. The restaurant evokes the Cantonese-style meat shops of the area’s past, but is also an example of how the city might, in the future, support so-called legacy businesses. @chinatownbbq [Province]

Cacao 70 Sweet House [North Vancouver] is located at 143 Chadwick Court at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, offering chocolate drinks, desserts, and all-day brunch items available for dine-in or to-go.  The other 2 locations are the Dippery  with ice cream and waffles dipped in chocolate, and the Eatery with chocolate menu items, traditional brunch and lunch. Joe Pizza [UBC]  has open doors at 5900 block University Blvd on UBC campus, and the Roman style pizza joint was created by the team who brought you Pourhouse, Ask for Luigi, Pizzeria Farina and St Lawrence!  @eatjoepizza [Scout]

La Cantina [Downtown] is located at 755 Nelson Street, and is created from the same team behind Whistler’s popular Mexican Corner restaurant, offering a menu of tacos, burritos, soups, and salads. Prado Cafe [Surrey] can be found at 3 Civic Place in Surrey City Central. The trendy coffee house/bakery has opened their first location outside of Vancouver in a brand new space fronting Surrey’s new Civic Plaza.  The local cafe chain serves freshly baked-in-store goods, 49th Parallel coffee, and lunch/brunch style food options. Roots+Fruits [Strathcona] has opened doors at 848 Powell Street. A Vegan Cafe, they believe in supporting local B.C. Farms by using quality, seasonal, organic ingredients whenever possible. ShareTea [South Cambie] is the 3rd location in BC of the Bubble Tea chain after their Richmond and Coquitlam branch and located at 2828 Cambie St. Established in 1992, Sharetea started off business with to-go black tea and pearl milk tea drinks in Taipei, Taiwan. Since then Sharetea has opened many branches and franchises in 18 countries such as United States, Canada, UK, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and over 450 stores. [Vancouver Foodster]
