Gastown’s iconic Water St. Café recently has welcomed its new sister restaurant, Qualicum Beach Cafe on Vancouver Island.

Recently opened its doors on January 30th, the new restaurant is located at Qualicum Beach Inn, replacing the former CView Restaurant.

The new restaurant is run by General Manager, Amy Turner, Executive Chef and Owner, Alan, Chef de Cuisine, Todd, and Host & Owner, Eli Brennan. The team is eager to showcase all that the West Coast has to offer – including its beautiful ocean views!

The new West Coast menu features fresh seafood, local ingredients, and a dash of Italian influence. Many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are also available.

Owner, Eli Brennan, and Chef & Owner, Alan Tse, bring with them more than 20 years of restaurant experience and they are excited to breathe new life into what once was the CView restaurant at the Qualicum Beach Inn.

“Fresh, local and an ocean view, Qualicum Beach Café has it all, ” says Eli, “we are looking forward to work with the local suppliers and community to bring a unique and special hospitality experience to Qualicum and the surrounding area…let’s have some fun!

The Qualicum Beach Café is be the duo’s second location, their first being the Water St. Café in the historic neighbourhood of Gastown in Downtown Vancouver. Voted Best Gastown Restaurant in Georgia Straight’s Golden Plates Awards in 2019, it’s been a Vancouver staple since 1988. As small business owners themselves, Eli and Alan take great pride in supporting local, including local BC wine, beer, and spirits, locally and sustainably produced ingredients, and local community charities. They also launched Vancouver’s newest music venue in 2018, the 2nd Floor Gastown, which has weekly jazz nights and evening dinner music from local artists.
