White Spot Offers 95th-Anniversary Menu to Kickstart Summer 2023

Nat Bailey opened the inaugural White Spot location in Vancouver on June 16, 1928, the same year when sliced bread was invented. Now, 95 years later, this establishment stands as Canada’s longest-running restaurant chain. After all not that many restaurants in Canada have survived both the 1930 Great Depression and the 2020-2022 Global Pandemic.

Warren Erhart, the President & CEO of White Spot Restaurants, expressed his pride in the legacy they have built over the years. After 33 years of dedicated leadership, Erhart is retiring this summer. He stated, “We’ve been operating for almost a century, and over that time, the values on which Nat Bailey founded White Spot have only grown stronger. Nat would be proud if he could see us today.”

To commemorate this momentous occasion, White Spot will offer a special limited-time 95th-anniversary menu from June 5 to July 16.

The menu will highlight the item that started it all: BBQ Chicken. When Nat Bailey opened the first drive-in on Granville & 67th Ave., beef was scarce, so White Spot won the hearts of its first loyal fans by serving BBQ chicken.

The anniversary menu will also feature items like Crispy Fried Chicken, Half Rack Ribs & Crispy Chicken, BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Crispy Fried Dills, and the iconic BC Chicken Burger with secret Triple “O” sauce.

Additionally, the menu will include a Birthday Cake Shake, and kids’ Pirate Paks will offer a choice of a birthday cake shake or a birthday cake sundae.

More great news worth celebrating! This year, White Spot has been recognized as one of B.C.’s top 10 most loved brands by BC Business Magazine and received the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade‘s Rix Award for Engaged Corporate Citizenship.

Trent Carroll, the incoming President of White Spot, expressed excitement for the brand’s bright future. He emphasized the substantial growth, particularly with the expansion of the Triple O’s brand beyond British Columbia, reaching locations in Alberta, Ontario, and even internationally in markets like Hong Kong. Carroll reflected on how it all began back in 1928 with that first drive-in, acknowledging the remarkable journey the brand has taken since then.
