Science of Cocktails 2023 Raised $285,000 to Support Science World’s Bursary Program

Science World, a non-profit organization, successfully hosted its Science of Cocktails event, its largest fundraising event in 3 years. The event raised more than $285,000 for Science World’s Bursary Program, which provides free access to Science World for underrepresented communities in STEAM fields. Since its establishment in 2016, Science of Cocktails has raised almost $1.5 million for the program.

The Bursary Program has partnered with various organizations and communities in British Columbia to remove the barriers to Science World for individuals who might not otherwise have access to the dome. The program has given free access to over 30,000 individuals from across the province in 2022 alone.

President and CEO of Science World, Tracy Redies, expressed her gratitude for the support of volunteers and the organizing committee in making the event a success.

Attendees at the sold-out event witnessed astounding science shows, tasted mouth-watering food samples prepared by locally renowned restaurants and caterers, and engaged with the city’s most talented bartenders as they showcased the science behind their tastiest tipples.

A panel of judges and event attendees chose the following winners of the evening:
